Description: (by goodreads.com) Ged, the greatest sorcerer in all Earthsea, was called Sparrowhawk in his reckless youth.
Hungry for power and knowledge, Sparrowhawk tampered with long-held secrets and loosed a terrible shadow upon the world. This is the tale of his testing, how he mastered the mighty words of power, tamed an ancient dragon, and crossed death’s threshold to restore the balance.
My Review: This is review is LONG overdue. Prepare for me to gush. I absolutely love Ursula Le Guin. She has a writing style that I simply adore. Her style, pacing and synchronicity in this novel does not disappoint! ^__^!! The main character Ged/Sparrowhawk grew on me as he evolved as a character. I loved his interaction with the dragon, and how he eventually looks at his task to deal with the Shadow. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!
